- Llama la dependencia a unirnos como sociedad para combatir los racismos hacia la igualdad de derechos
Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax., 12 de julio de 2022. Con el objetivo de visibilizar la importancia de fomentar y fortalecer la participación política de mujeres afrodescendientes hasta eliminar las brechas de género, la Secretaría de las Mujeres de Oaxaca (SMO) realizó de manera virtual la Conferencia Magistral ‘Hablemos de la participación de las Mujeres Afrodescendientes’, a cargo de la Ex vicepresidenta de Costa Rica Epsy Campbell Barr.
Al dar la bienvenida, la titular de la SMO, Ana Vásquez Colmenares Guzmán señaló que no se puede pensar en alcanzar sociedades más igualitarias si no se insiste en que todas las personas tenemos iguales derechos, y que los valores de igualdad y no discriminación deben convertirse en resultados concretos de desarrollo para todas las personas, pero particularmente para aquellas en mayor desventaja como son las mujeres y niñas.
Asimismo, la funcionaria estatal refirió que América no se entiende si no se considera su vasta y compleja composición donde por ejemplo Oaxaca ocupa el cuarto lugar a nivel nacional con mayor número de mujeres afrodescendientes, las cuales se ubican en municipios como Villa de Tututepec, Oaxaca de Juárez, Santa María Huazolotitlán, Pinotepa Nacional y San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec.
El 25 de julio de 1992 en el encuentro de 400 mujeres afrodescendientes de 32 países de América Latina y el Caribe realizado en República Dominicana se denunció el sexismo, la discriminación racial, la pobreza, la migración y la violencia, y se proclamó el Día de la Mujer Afrolatina, Afrocaribeña y de la Diáspora, conformando así una red de lucha por la dignidad y los derechos de las mujeres negras, en su calidad de ciudadanas plenas, informó Vásquez Colmenares.
Ante la presencia de las diputadas locales Mariana Benítez y Gabriela Pérez, así como de la Presidenta del Tribunal Estatal Electoral, Elizabeth Bautista, la titular de la SMO llamó a visibilizar la lucha que las mujeres afrodescendientes de todo el continente, sus aportes, aprendiendo unas de otras y haciendo frente a la discriminación estructural, legado colonial y patriarcal, para encaminarse hacia la autonomía plena de las mujeres y niñas afrodescendientes e indígenas, asumiendo como sociedad desafíos implícitos.
Por su parte, la ponente y también colaboradora de ONU Mujeres, Rica Epsy Campbell Barr argumentó que las mujeres aportan una visión, una sensibilidad y diferentes experiencias en los espacios de poder y al llegar ahí les toca abrir puertas y hacer el camino más fácil a las que vienen detrás, empezando por algo básico pero fundamental: cambiar los imaginarios para construir la nueva sociedad, donde las infancias normalicen la participación de las mujeres y puedan imaginar que es posible llegar a ocupar cargos de poder y toma de decisiones.
En este sentido, la especialista refirió que es necesario hacer un cambio cultural, en el que exista la seguridad de distribuir el poder entre todas las personas de diversas capacidades estéticas; es un paso fundamental hacia democracias robustas para avanzar ante circunstancias adversas hacia democracias paritarias.
Asimismo, Campbell describió cómo la negación de los pueblos negros mexicanos era sistemática incluso desde la academia y un feminismo que no veía a las mujeres afro. Y aunque la ONU en 2014 declaró el reconocimiento, aun es preciso seguir trabajando para hacer visible la multiculturalidad y sobre todo desde el Estado.
En tanto, felicitó a la SMO por la realización de estos eventos porque dijo que no hay forma de garantizar la ciudadanía plena si una parte de la población no está reconocida en espacios de poder tanto académicos, políticos y sociales. También es precisó tomar medidas afirmativas señaló y al venir del activismo social, los temas necesarios son más claros.
Finalmente, la ex Vicepresidenta de su nación contó sus aportes, logros y experiencias en el cargo y recomendó reflexionar sobre cuál es el rol que cada mujer juega desde su encargo para lograr la igualdad, tener un plan, una hoja de ruta, además de contar con la capacidad de resguardarnos ante los desafíos.
